Master of Humanity and Environmental Science Program
Since 2014 National Dong Hwa University is offering a new program to promote “Integrative Sciences”—an integrated approach to environmental studies that combines insights, perspectives, and methods from the natural and social sciences. According to the program’s graduate-level curriculum, students are trained to become “Environmental Change-Makers”. Central to the course is the study and practice of sound environmental management to achieve sustainable development.
The curriculum is designed to cultivate respect for the natural world and develop a sensitivity towards the ecological, social, and cultural impacts of human action. During the English-taught program, both Taiwanese and international students develop the expertise for collaboratively managing natural resources in cooperation with local communities, indigenous peoples, and the state.
